Welcome to TheHavenNet, otherwise known as THN!
In this welcome forum, you can introduce yourself to the community and see who else is new - you'll soon find that you can make many new friends very quickly. Just create a new topic and introduce yourself!
:. The Games
At THN we play a whole host of games from every genre you can imagine. With the resources available to the community we can even host servers for games that support online play, and as such you can be sure that as part of THN you'll always have someone to play with.
So what is it that we play then? A more complete list is included in the THN FAQ (http://games.thehavennet.org.uk/faq.php?faq=faq_thn#faq_faq_thn_overview), but a quick selection includes:
World of Warcraft
Battlefield 2 / Project Reality
Battlefield 2142
Source-powered games, such as Counter Strike: Source
Unreal Tournament powered games, such as Alien Swarm
...
Of course, that list was correct at time of writing. The games that currently interest THN members can be seen in our (almost unique?) Play Finder service (http://games.thehavennet.org.uk/games.php) that helps you find other THN members who play the same games as you. Of course, for that to work you need to fill out your Games You Play profile (http://games.thehavennet.org.uk/profile.php?do=extra) (don't worry, that information is only used on THN and we block anonymous access to your profile).
If you see or know of a game that we should be playing, then let us know by posting about it in the Games Chat forum (http://games.thehavennet.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=46), or by contacting a member of the Moderation or Administration team directly by using the Private Message function (http://games.thehavennet.org.uk/private.php) of these forums.
:. Advice for navigating the forums and personal conduct
If you're stuck and need a hand, shout for a Moderator.
If there are serious user/post problems, shout for a Super Moderator.
If it's all broken, then you need an Administrator.
For the most part, you won't need a Junior Administrator as they help out the Administrators.
On the note of personal conduct, there are some points worth bearing in mind when creating, or replying to, a post.
The advantage of a forum is that you don't have to rush your typing or answer. Take your time to refine your post properly.
Not everyone can read TxT0R or 1337 speak. Use English (it's our common language) so that people can understand what you are saying. We're not asking for your spelling and punctuation to be perfect, but do give a serious attempt at trying to get it right.
