Post Ratings can be given on other people's posts by any Registered User. They come in three flavours:

Positive

Feedback intended to encourage; a pat on the back, if you will. Includes:
  • Like
  • Cookie
  • Agree
  • Funny
  • Winner
  • Informative
  • Friendly
  • Useful
  • Optimistic
  • Creative
Use profusely, as you wish.

Neutral

Feedback intended to guide, or simply state a reasonable disagreement. Includes:
  • Dislike
  • Disagree
Use as much as you feel helpful.

Negative

Feedback intended to disuade and encourage more positive or useful posting. Includes:
  • Old
  • Bad Spelling
  • Trash
Use sparingly, but break them out if you feel the need. In particular:

Old should indicate that it's been posted before, possibly many times, on this very board; it's intended to encourage users to, y'know, search rather than spam. Bad Spelling... speeks 4 itself dunnit reet? Trash should be reserved for posts of poor content but not quite bad enough to break out the Report button.

Intermittently, I'll take a peer at the negative ratings to see if I agree and purge them if I don't. Back to your previous viewing.

Does this board allow new ones to be created? (Thinking competition ideas)
Yes, though I'd not want to add too many temporary ratings.

It is, however, possible to customise what ratings are used for what forums, so if we had some sort of a game or something that used the ratings then we'd just need a special sub forum somewhere that used the custom set.
