2142 Practise

Well, I thought i'd create a thread about the 2142 practise session coming up tomorrow night.
Now that we've decided to run with the inf ladder for the moment, I will setup the server before the practise with the Settings for INF. (Does bloke still have connectory problems, can an admin fix em?)

I hoped to use this practise to start to get some basic structure in the clan, see who's best at SL,SM, we don't need commander or pilot until we hit titan, so this isn't too much of a worry. And maybe once we've played around a bit try and hit some public servers and get some tactics going and stuff like that.

If people have more ideas about what should be accomplished tomorrow night, let us know here, then we at least have some organisation!

Yes he does, no we can't. The problem is he is getting kicked for failing some checksums on files due to him using an ISO as his disk broke. These checks are from the ED default config Trax gave me. So I'm guessing other servers will have them too. Either way, if you want to play on the server for ED, I'm pretty sure you need the checks.

Indeed. I am using a cracked exe, however, not an ISO. But I am gonna take the plunge and download the 3.31GB iso I need (erk). Hopefully I'll have it by tomorrow nite.

That is indeed correct. Maybe that is something we could disable for practice nights?

I've had this bittorrent download going for 7 hours now and so far it's at... 7%. At that rate, not a hope in hell of having it for tomorrow :

unfortunately because it is such a large file (3.31GB) I am extremely unlikely to get it by any other method :(

Surely even when you get the ISO, you are still going to have to use a cracked exe? I thought pretty much every game now checks the CD in some way? Can you not get a mini-ISO to mount and use the regular exe?

Can you borrow a CD off anyone? Or use a disc-doctor on the dvd? Or buy another copy?

As for tomorrow night, maybe. I don't know where in the configs it does the checks, and I'm not home until tomorrow lunch now, so will look then.

I AM downloading the mini-image. the Mini-image is 3.31GB in size!!! (no it isn't an ISO!!!!!!)

And Birdy you may be receiving a visit from me tomorrow after I've played football :)

I think I have just managed to get it to read the disk... in which case it just needs cleaning a bit more vigorously I guess...
