Version 1.4 beta is now out,

so far there is 1x new map,

- Highway Tampa
and Patch notes as of release :


-Fixed an exploit that would allow commanders to call Orbital and EMP strikes before it had fully recharged.
- The Clark RDX Shotgun can now detonate other nearby explosives.
- EU Assault Rifle recoil and deviation have been slightly reduced.
- Bianchi and Shuko LMGs recoil reduced.
- Clark Shotgun rate of fire increased.
- Added an autosave to kit customisations. After you customise a kit and spawn in with that kit, the customisation will be automatically saved until you change it and spawn in again. Note that you must spawn in with a particular kit for it to be saved.

I can't wait for these to be fully implemented :D

Er... That's silly. The Bianchi is already pretty recoil-less, and is pretty powerful... I'm thinking PKM all over again :(

Well, that'll be 60+ kills a round I'll get with it instead of the normal 30+ then :D

What, like, cross server saving?! If so, YAY! THAT'S AWESOME!

elD you be wrong here, since the last patch its been like shooting with an elephant gun, they turned the recoil up a silly amount.

ERMMMMM I'm sorry what now, WTF would you increase the fire rate of a shotgun, this is going to be silly.

IF this works this is going to be a huge time saver.

My thoughts.

Double Assault lines on the new map sounds cool.

The saved customisations is going to be extremely useful (I'm just surprised it's taken them so long to implement - I recommended it after the beta testing :rolleyes:)

The RDX detonating other explosives could be very useful for assaulting the enemy titans (aka claymore alley).

EU assault rifle recoil reduced is not good, it was already pretty accurate.

I have to agree with elD about the LMG's. They're already deadly in the right hands and this is just going to make them worse. On the other hand, I'm playing support quite a bit these days so it may benefit me.

I think the Clarke was pretty well balanced already. It is fairly slow to fire, but is also powerful. As long as they don't alter it too much (shotgun power with LMG rate of fire :p) then I think this should be okay.

My one question is how can they think the Voss doesn't need adjusting? That gun is seriously overpowered. If I come up against someone using it, 9 times out of 10 I die, unless I'm using it myself. Likewise, if I'm using it and come up against someone with a different gun I'll win most of the time.

Pfft, I've just finished with Support (got gold support and resupply), and working on Recon and Engineer now (15 hours left with each till gold!).

My one question is how can they think the Voss doesn't need adjusting? That gun is seriously overpowered. If I come up against someone using it, 9 times out of 10 I die, unless I'm using it myself. Likewise, if I'm using it and come up against someone with a different gun I'll win most of the time.

Ditto. bob and Ronin can testify to that :( I hate the Voss and all that use it. Though I will have to use it to get gold assault at some point, me thinks!

Yes it is !, although if you spawn with a field upgrade, it tries to save that as your default load out. which of course won't happen after you leave a server.

So when you disconnect and join another server, you will need to just make sure you have all the unlocks, (I'm sure for the things that we have everything in i.e. Support :P this won't be a problem !)

Oh one other thing, if you have a Spawn beacon on your kit load out, it doesn't always save it.. so you'll have to add that back again, not that it matters if your not going to lead the squad :)

You could use the Baur H-AR instead ..... ;)

- Smoke from the CM3-N Radar Grenade deploys more quickly. The Radar range has been slightly increased and endures for the duration of the smoke effect.
- The CM3-N Radar Grenade may now be resupplied.
- The screening effectiveness of all smoke grenades has been significantly improved.
- Adjusted Talon heat source position to improve Gunship missile balance.
- Beta Feedback: Fixed the placement of an AA gun on Highway Tampa
- Beta Feedback: Improved the visuals of the swimming pool on Highway Tampa

The biggest bugger imo is the - Further fix to prevent "pod surfing". Note that some pod movement will still be possible and is an intended gameplay mechanic to allow the player to have some small choice of landing site and to access rooftops

Sure it makes the game alot fairer :p but i like flying 50% of the map before i spawn ...

Prettier swimming pools for all!

Also, after how long? A year? They're still tweaking the basic assault rifles?!

Is that necessary, or are they just being fussy?

Lots of people use the basic assault rifles ;) they're the balance between the Baur and the Voss :)

Yay so that I might get a chance to fly on pubby servers, boo as it means even LESS people will bother about actually capping silos...

Hey don't get me wrong, not using unlocks was a point of honour in BF2. I was just curious if it still needed actual tweaking or they were being pedantic :).

I wonder if Highway Tampa will have 3 Gunships then, or they remove the spawn for the one on the ground. because otherwise that will wreak total havoc on anything you try and do on that map

err the scar11 which is the EU stock rifle, they are basically trying to balance it to the krylov (the PAC one) which is crazy.

Also why does the shotgun possibly need speeding up

Now please someone explain to me how one pod surfs? Because whenever I ask in TS all I get is 'wiggle your mouse' which never seems to work :p

This is all there is too it !


To go from point beacon to Point XYZZBAC(etc) you look the opposite direction and turn your mouse 90* Left then 180* to the right thus you wiggle backwards !

Or, you look at a sneaky tutorial. It's a lame way of doing it, but there are "guides" on youtube. I'm not going to link directly, as it sucks! Still, have a look at those.
