Very good news for those of us looking forwards to EvE becoming the sci fi MMO it has always promised to be, instead of merely a spaceship MMO.

I don't understand why people are belly aching about the game progressing towards CCPs 'from day one we stated' mission statement. Had this debate prior to a fleet op last night, with the main argument being:

"Why do you want THAT in your spaceship game"

It isn't, hasn't and will never be a spaceship game - CCP want a sci-fi sim, and like it or not that's what we're getting. As with every other patch, adapt, die or leave .

i agree they should have an opt out option. Definitely not wanting anyone game style to be impacted.

Though game-style imperialists who feel that RP and immersion should be sidelined for the rock, paper, supercap of pvp (wormhole pvp forever nullbears!) need to DIAF (ingame).

But to re-iterate - right there with ya on an opt out Spicy. need options, not enforcement.

There is now an opt-out policy, which is going to be there for "a while" according to a recent devblog.

It's nice they timed it with the release of the AMD A8 notebooks, they seem to be the perfect mid range laptop with enough graphical grunt to give CCP less sleepless nights, irony being nvidia didn't aid them in that.
They probably should consider dropping the nvidia centric views and invite AMD to the party when it comes to optimisation as this year it'll look quite intel/AMD centric in terms of graphics in notebooks...

Well ultimately notebooks aint for gaming, and Eve's graphical updates with Incarna will further push that point.

Not considering they are working on a toned down client for mobile devices, including not only the usual station stuff like market manipulation and skill changing, but also full undocked stuff like missions and pvp. They had some early footage of it at Fanfest this year, and with the E3 announcement of Dust being PS3 exclusive, it ties in well with Sony's cloud-based model for future games.

would have to run on pc/mac to be useful to me at the moment, my phone *barely* does mms...
what i really want is market/skills in eve gate, but that's unlikely to be coming any time soon either
