But why? Surely if you want to wander around Kalimdor you just click on wow.exe... not so 8-bit

Well i dont have Wow, but do have minecraft, and wont be classed as a wow player if i walk around that map? ;-)

Looks a nice bit of terragen there though. Shame it needs mods to get the height, although i think Jeb has been working on extra height to be added properly to the game which should help.

For the sheer challenge of making it, tweaking it to how you want. For many people, there's a lot of appeal in recreating stuff they like in Minecraft. One guy made a 1:1 scale model of the Enterprise-D from Star Trek TNG. I was trying to recreate parts of the Crystal Maze at one point.

It's all in the spirit of such sandbox building funs.

Yup, doubling the sky height is being added to the latest snapshot and being released today from what I understand so that should be sorted in the latest versions.

Indeed so. Hopefully we'll see a map from them in the native format which doesnt require mods or hacks to get it to load!
