A friend o mine wants to come join me here with you guys at THN, is there any kind of signup process that he has to go through to use [THN] before his name? just thought i'd check as i'm also new here.

Nope, the [THN] tag if you will, is just meant to show you belong to the community, so yeah mate once he's registered, the tag if he chooses to wear it is his (correct me if I'm wrong :p )

He doesnt have to wear it at all, its up to him. I know for certain though that you need it for clanmatches.
