A Little Help

Well, I wonder if any of you wonderfull people can help me...

I'm looking into sourcing a new headset for my PC, however Ideally I would really like it to be wireless. Due to the requirement of gaming and such like, I would ideally like it to have a microphone, and Finally, the sound card on one of my PC's is on the blink, so i'd quite like it to be USB as well.
Now I know this is a tall order, and i've looked around and failed miserably to find anything. But I know there are some of you's out there alot better at scouring the net than me. So if you have a spare 5 minutes and feel like helping out a friend it would be awsome!

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I don't have time to find them for you, but I will say: www.scan.co.uk - undoubtedly one of the best online retailers I've ever dealt with. As for USB sound, Creative do a version of their Sound Blaster range in USB. For headsets, a good many people on these forums will swear by Seinnheiser (sp?) for all headset-y needs.

My little bro has a set of Sennheisers, can't specify which model though, but both the sound and recording quality are excellent. only problem is they fall off your head sometimes, and the earphones do make your ears ache after extended periods of playing. Relatively cheap, too! (or my bro's never have been able to afford them :p)

EDIT: Done a little rummaging about, looks to me like these are the bad boys. He bought them from play.com, for about £35 I think, don't see them listed up there anymore, though.

ED-EDIT: USB only, you say? Then maybe the PC135s are more your thing.

Well having thought this out, i've decided that I'm going to stick with my current Zalman 5.1 headphones, and just get a nice 5.1 usb soundcard. now i remember reading about aa usb soundcard from someone, which I quite liked, but i can't remember which it is. I remember it being Metalic, not unlike a small doornob on the desk, with the top being the volume control, and then the sides having the connections.

If anyone remembers this or anything similar, would be greatly appreciated!

Not quite trax, that was my original idea, however I've now decided to stick with my nice Zalmans, however I need a 5.1 for the Mac, and unless i can find a PCI-E sound card, i need to go USB

Why PCI-E ? thats the new GFX card slots, you just need a PCI card that's all

PCI-E is a bus for your PC. It's not exclusively for graphics card. You know it for graphics cards, and they are one of the few things that can truly use a large percentage of the bandwidth of the bus (as it's a lot faster then AGP and PCI). However, that doesn't mean other devices (such as sound card) can't use PCI-E :)

Edit - Oh, and I don't think Vibs has any free PCI slots, hence the need to have a PCI-E or USB card!

backwards compatibility is entirely dependent on the chipset used on the motherboard afaik, my experience is that most newer ones (last year or so) are happy with it, but older than that and you start to hit problems, however looking round i can't see any sound cards for PCI-e yet so this is probably your best bet
