Guide: 10 ways of helping your Tank.
After some tanking in instances with pugs, guildies and weirdos i want
to share some valuable lessons to group members; How to to help tank at his job.
1. Knowledge.
- Remember you always know everything better than Tank so dont forget to share your words of wisdom about how to pull monsters, how to use agro gaining skills, what to wear and overall anything you feel is necessary to help Tank to know his own class.
2. AOE
- Always, i mean ALWAYS use AOE magic/skills at every circumstance. Nothing keeps Tank on toes better than every class uses their good old AOE when theres group of 4-6 elite mobs.
3. CC
- CC: other words known as WTFlol!?. Cmon think about it!
Using sheep costs mana and that mana is out of your nuke dps or imba aoe.
Sap? Bah, you have better things available when your stealthed; Why not ambush the mob instead, surely tank can get em off you.
Frost trap? Nonono, use multishot instead right at pull as it gives Tank fuzzy feeling inside.
Or if in any poor circumstances theres sheeped/trapped/sapped mob, remember its standing still just so you can aim better.
4. Fear
- Use fear its imba! Best time to use fear is right after tank has pulled or preferable little before.
AOE fears are so neat! One mob run away after seeing your mightiness is nothing to compare seeing whole plethora of monsters fleeing in terror. Ofc dont let Tank to touch em before you, would be unfair.
5. Marks
- You see marks above monster heads? Just pick one of your favorite color or shape and start nuking, easy as that.
6. Yell and running
- If you some weird way gain agro, just use CAPS or /y: HELP!!1! IM GETTING HIT!! and run away in circles or more preferable back where you came from or into other group of mobs.
7. DMG meter
- If your not top of epeen meter, your nothing. Even healers should try keep with rest in dmg, so use that smite its there for a reason!
8. Responsibility
- Remember that wipes are always Tanks fault, dont forget to remind them about it.
9. Looting
- Plate armor solds well at vendor, so everyone is obligated to Need roll on it to cover repairs. Few expections apply though:
- That plate with lots of STA and DEF, if it has nice colour then its for retri paladins.
- If its BOE; dont vendor it, rather put on AH with ridiculous price. Also if tank needed it, its considered polite to let him know when you put it on sale.
10. Respect
- Respect Yourself, You are the most important link in group. If You hear Tank telling strategies and tactics, he must think Your stupid. Either get him kicked and replaced or hearth out and find group that accept You as their superior.
