that is SOOOO appropriate when you consider that as I am the new guy at work and they had to buy a new PC especially for me so I could actually work... They could only get me a PC with Vista on it... apparently XP is not even available as an option anymore.

This means I am now the only guy in a office of 20-30 people using Vista. Suddenly I'm a Vista expert! (at least here anyway...)

Dell is still offering XP (to corporate customers for sure, but I think to normal folks as well,) on new computers. I don't expect it to be manditory for quite some time yet...

That would be due to massive driver issues. NVIDIA have well and truly screwed up the distribution chain with their lack of decent drivers atm.

Driver issues or not, I know that we (refering to myself as The Corporation, here) would have to drop Dell as a supplier if they forced Vista installations. I'm sure they'll force it on home users as soon as they can deliver computers that actually run when it's installed, but that's probably still a few months off.

But yeah, nvidia messed up good. It will be interesting to see how any class-action lawsuits turn out.
