I remember getting a lend of it off a friend. I decided to do a full flight in a 747 from Dublin to Gran Canaria. After a few false starts I told air control where I was going and how I was doing it, took off and pointed myself at the right bearing.

That part was great fun, but waiting 4 hours to get to Gran Canaria? Not so much.

I've played older versions of FS and I remember that one of the features was to have yourself either do a take-off or a landing but not have to worry about the middle bit. There are days when simulation can go too far for me, and a four hour uneventful flight is probably one of them.

To be honest, that was a custom flight. It's jam packed full of scenarios like trying to land a plane with engine failure or landing a plane in a storm on a mountain. It's certainly good fun.

From the brief experience I've had with FSX, the crashes are neither fun nor realistic, you just kinda "ping" off the ground, and no, before you ask, you can't do loop-de-loops in jumbos, it just doesn't work! :p
P.S. Huung, I'm sure there's tons of people out there who would realllllly enjoy to see realistic crashes, It's why programs like "World's Most Amazing Videos" are so well received, lots of people enjoy watching other people suffer (as long, of course, as they're perfectly ok afterwards!........I think :/)

Used to be able to, while in the Cadets with a previous version of MS FS, we took off from the airfield we were based at in a 747 ( that would take up half of the runway ) and did a a full 360 loop in the air.

As I think I mentioned, my current group project is Airport related, so I installed it the other day. If you end up playing online, feel free to poke me to join!

as mmm as for the newest copy of FSX, you can turn crashes on and in realistic setting syou can have bits fall off, an dwaights and relisting loads, problems, fires, allsorts, as for the time argument, ... its a bit moot as you can speed up an dslow down time all you want, sure if you hop in a 747 point it a glasgo and make you r dinenr it wont be fun, if you go in right im gonna fly tese guys there fully, so you make you pre flight checks, on ful realism you have to pick the passengers up, warm up the jets, make sure the fule is right, set the auto pilot and heading, talk to ATC taxi and fly asking permmissions for airspace, and stuff can go wrong, then land to procedure, (yes you can and i have done a barrel roll in a 737.. it didnt like it)

if you sut want shits and or giggles, hop in a microlight or a EXtra 300 (redbull airrace planes) and go for a joy ride, see paris, or the lakes, download a spitfire, get a glider and learn meteorology by using the thermals, tajke the redbull airrace, crash into the twin towers, etc

plus pingue, danke, haha, i was at the ATC today so if you have anything you want to know ask up, i know bits
