I actually had a wee go of BF2 the other night for the first time in ages. I might download this and give it a go, cheers Buffalo :).

Can you actually use that SR-71? It's not in the aircraft list but the trailer shows it flying ingame.

Actually Buffalo mate, you're incorrect. Yes, it can be flown on the map "Operation Greasy Mullet." I must sing the praises of this mod though, it's very very nice, and I very much like the extra reward from going for headshots all the time, makes the game all the more interesting, Thanks Buffalo =)

Nah mate, it's fully equipped to kill things, and it's about 50% faster than every other jet in the game EXCEPT the firefox (also from the map Operation Greasy Mullet) which is the MEC counterpart to the blackbird.

The Blackbird design began in the late 1950s as a Mach 3 high-altitude interceptor and strike platform

Need we say anymore?

YF-12A Initially designed as an interceptor prototype equipped with a Hughes AN/ASG-18 pulse-Doppler radar in the nose and tandem weapons bays for AIM-47 air-to-air missiles, later used by NASA as Mach 3 research aircraft; 3 built (2 lost)

...

I'm fed up of this game already now.

Trax mate, I think what he's trying to say is that they are different models and that you are referring to the wrong one, the YF-12A rather than the SR-71 that Psi refers to. What you're saying may be true Psi, but twould be a bit useless flying around in the blackbird on this huge map unless it could actually kill stuff, don't need it as a reconnaisance plane since the whole map's already revealed...... :p

If only they would implement something like the co-pilot's artillery spotting capability from the scout planes in the German Front mod (BF1942) - sorf of like a 'shared' kill -, on top of getting assists from people who kill targets your radar reveals. Add a whole new level of tactics to it.

That said, tracking kills as though they were achievements seems to be entirely wrong-headed when looking at more advanced joint service battles. Surely achieving objectives is the thing that matters, for the purpose of the game? Or is that too simulation oriented?

Hmm, bit OT there.
