Pretty much. They are the equivalent of a WoW content patch - except that they are larger in scale IMO. And they are free.

Expansions add content. They're released twice a year, free of charge.

Patches fix bugs.

I can see some scout parties of our own coming up, maybe some of you other folk will re-join? :p

Though it'll be at strange times because D's our resident explorer :p

Im pretty much un-corped atm with my two guys (the corp Im in does nothing and just decided to break from the alliance we were in, so now we have no nullsec space whatsoever) so come the expansion I might well re-assess my Eve situation and come and join you guys for a bit :)

I'm letting a bunch of things wait 'til after I've moved to see what sort of cash I have left for subscription games. That said, I love exploration so this might tempt me back...

Having a chat with IF, we should be able to afford, by this time (or a little afterwards), The carrier for me, and the large cargo ship for IF. With, D doing the exploring, a ridiculous corp hanger bay on the carrier, and an even more ridiculous cargo bay on IF's future ship, we'll be able to do a mobile HQ sort of thing doing the exploration in the deep space zones. To keep matter low (wormholes will close after X time has passed, or Y matter has gone through it) We'll be able to transport all ships within the Carrier hanger bay, and IF's cargo bay... So we could be able to do a fair bit of mining / salvaging / exploring what ever is available to us :). I just need to buy a carrier, and the equipment for it, and get those last couple of skills for the equipment up and I'll be good to go. IF is 50% of the way to buying his cargo ship ( one of the big ones, the minmatar version of the charon. (almost 900Km3) ;)

Tons of dev responses. It sounds like it can be quite risky bringing large ships in, as you don't know where or when you'll emerge (or who you'll run into...)

Of course, you're pretty good at losing big expensive ships, eh Trax?

Who said I'd lose it? We'll be in a fleet :p, sure I'm not there as weapons, but I'd have TONS of drones!

And my drones can repair shields and armour! We'll also be taking a small POS with us to refine minerals, we can always use dummy characters to 'scout' the wormholes first, so camping won't rape us :p

Given where I left off, I'd probably aim to fly CAP so as long as we don't walk straight into an ambush we should be able to get off without losing the high-value ships. I say "should" with emphasis, I think.

We'd be starting from 0.4 space, as carrier's can't go into 0.5 or above. W-space (wormhole space) is all 0.0 as you'd expect, though it'll be mostly pretty empty :)

IF we're all looking at joining back in, White Lancer is VERY close to being able to fly the command ship with crazy ammounts of fleet bonuses (speed, shielding, etc)

When I say very, I believe i'm looking at 20days with some ISK injection (currently the sticking point)

Keep me posted, if people are all gonna play again, could well be tempted to come back

My timescales are probably April onwards, realistically, and then not at the same level as I'd intended originally (unless the mood strikes me).

That said, Apocrypha is March, isn't it?
