So i'm slightly undecided on if this is a workable idea, or just awsomely cool in theory.
Anyway, trax showed me this the other day on Skype and i've now had more than 30seconds to look at it!

This is a game DESIGNED for Lan parties with a projector (I-Series Clanbox anyone?). The idea is you have 6 networked computers, with 5 people taking the roles of Helm, Weapons, Science, Engineering, and Comms and then the 6th computer runs the viewscreen. The captain of course doesn't have a computer and gives all the orders.
You then fight a bunch of enemies trying to defend your sector whilst dashing/warping between stations to fight of enemies whilst hiding in nebula and launching sneaky counter attacks.
Havn't actually watched the videos yet due to being on the m4 and internet being flaky... But the theory at least seems like a good idea... Wonder if anyone is interested in having a crack at this @ i-series... Need 5 others! (I believe that we would need the full version to run this in full, but if there's enough interest I could be persuaded to shell out on that...)
