AVI-DVD Video

Hey ppl

Im trying to make a dvd for a friend of a bunch of tv episodes (12 infact) that are currently in AVI formatt. I need some software that will take all the files and make them into video format to fit on to my dvds. It would be good if I could make a menu so that you could skip from episode to episode.

Any ideas?? Ive download like a million bits of software but they all crash or dont take more than one file or just dont convert!

Nero does it, but I've found that voice syncing gets fubared every now and then due to slight corruption in some frames (so they get all messed up, while the audio is fine). Though to fix that, you might be able to use one of these avi clean up programs. Who knows!

Still, Nero has nice features like auto scene detection, which I've found to be awesome (though slightly slow). And other stuff. Go download the 30 day demo for it.

Tell them to buy a Divx/Avi DvD player. They cost the same as Dvd players these days and you can buy them for about 20 quid. I've had one for years now and there so much easier.

I use a combination of TMPGEnc DVD Author for the menus. The output (in proper DVD .VOB format) is then fed into DVD Shrink to bring it down to the right size for whatever DVD I'm using.
