BBC Gives an interesting take on "The lone gamer"

Feels a little whimsical on the part of the author but I share his hope that people start to learn their way around the "what a loser" attitude, though no such aspiration for others to measure themselves against me.

Personally, I think a good part of the issue is wrapped up in society not yet understanding that I can form valuable virtual relationships and that these are as important as face-to-face relationships; my conversations on MSN are as valid as those on the phone or face-to-face; my play in a multiplayer online game just as beneficial (socially speaking) as a game of football in the park.

Hit it on the head there Ronin!

Another benefit of this "culture" here too.

a couple of days late... but, I agree on these, but then again there's nothing like human interaction.. in the flesh, im all for my various virtual kinships, but i think you still need to have some form of 'real' social life too. But of-course you can also make these 'real' relations with the people you meet on-line, i.e. our very own THN meet, I've personally had a relationship with a girl i met via WoW for 11 months, before she went a bit weird on me but that won't change my attitude about it :p
