So if you don't live on IRC you probably don't think much about whats going on behind the scenes to keep THN online. There's much geeky stuff going on and recently effort has been invested to expand the resources we have available to us.
Traditionally THN has been run from a single (or possibly a couple) of machines that did everything. If any one of those machines failed then we lost something and it took a while to bring back up. But with hardware becoming cheap and home connections becoming faster we're looking to use virtual technology a lot more to help prevent this. I've put together a wiki page of what resources we have available to us currently at the link below:
http://wiki.thehavennet.org.uk/Systems
This is a work in progress but we're at the point now where we can start moving things around and giving greater access to the Admins. And to allow more people to contribute to keeping things running. As always with THN, if there's a game you're willing to promote and push folks into playing then we've the resources to help host it (assuming its free to host).
Feel free to ask any questions in here, I know you're not all technical so I'll do my best to keep any answers fairly straight forwards.
