Ooh.

3 new maps, 10 new unlocks, horizontal podding, and Epic Titan Mode (How original).

A booster pack worth buying?

First you have to consider whether 2142 on it's own is worth buying.

But all in all I'm not too keen on these 'booster' packs, they just don't seem to have much in them to be worth the cash.

I like the sound of the new vehicles. But to get all the unlocks, you'll need like 180k global points. Which is going to take a while... So I think I won't get it for now. I dunno though...

Depends what price they set for it. Bearing in mind that SupCom is 25 quid for the full game, if Northern Strike is any more than, say, 15 quid then I dont reckon Ill pick it up. Even then, itd be about 25% of a full game for 66% of the price.

They're not adding much to it, you know those 'Stuff' packs you get for The Sims? I'd say it would be something like that, so £10 seems probable.

But then this is EA we're talking about so I wouldn't put it past them to charge £15 or even £20

This is just like the booster packs for BF2. Which, if I remember correctly, were £6 each.

This in my opinion won't be much different... There is not enough content here to warrant the price being as high as £15 or £20... which I would expect to pay for an expansion pack.

I doubt if it will be as much as £15, BF2 expansion packs were only £6.

I will buy it, new maps are always appealing!

The urban Titan map might make it more interesting. I hope it is more of a linear map (á la Minsk) instead of lateral (á la Sidi Power plant). That way, there is a tangible frontline, instead of having nuggets running back and forth for the easy out-of-the-way silos.

Oh, how I hunger the simplicity of enclosed, claustrophobic maps and res-node capping of NS :)

yeah lets hope so i get right fed up with sidi. very hard to setup good offensive position, although if u can get an organised armour thang going on you can trundle your way to destruction.

The booster packs were £6, but the expansion pack (Special Forces) was £20.

I guess it just depends on how they classify it but as it's the first add-on I reckon they'll want to make as much money as possible, especially given the less than enthusiastic comments I've read about the game in general.
