I was playing Titan maps with Psi-soilder last night and noticed something I didn't like.
When there are a lot of people on the titan the gameplay is often terribly sluggish. It was not due to ping lag, just lag due to downright terrible coding. For example, I went to prone position (pressing X) to cover a corridor, nothing happened after a second or two, so thought I hadn't pressed it. So, I pressed 'X' again and well, what happened, I got up and then went to prone instantaneously and got shot.....grrrrr how annoying. The lag executed my two 'X' depresess at the same time, which made me a sitting duck.
Psisoilder who I am sure will reply to this posting said that these lag problems occur only when the titan is moving with a lot of people on it - hmmm that pretty much resigns the mode to failure from my perspective.
In saying that, if you understand newton's laws of motion there would be some motion 'jerkeness' if such a ship with such a large mass and inertia did exist. So maybe the natural physics of the programming has made these issues arise?
Psisoilder had a good idea to remove this. If the shield is down this should somehow disable the the engines, so the titan would not move.
Titan mode is a good idea but hasn't been implemented well. Hope the patches address this.
Other than the dodgy titan mode, I do like the game, the conquest maps are a fantastic sci-fi BF2 mode.
