If you're seeking a little cud to chew then you may be interested in the debate between Stephen Fry and Christopher Hitchens on Blasphemy. Its a little old (2006) but I heard an extract from it whilst bimbling through the wilds of youtube and am downloading the entire thing to listen to later today.

Without any more preable:

The Guardian page.

And a direct link to the mp3 of the debate.

I found this on youtube about a year ago. Always a very interesting debate when you have 2 such great minds as these 2. I have alot of time and admiration for Steven Fry.

When it comes to blasphemy i tend to agree with most of their points. I fully respect peoples right to have whatever belief they want. Thats up to them. What I will not be forced into though is respecting the belief itself, and having my right for freedom of speech impinged upon by falsley flagging it as blasphemy.

I must also highly recomend the intelligence squared debate had down in England a few months ago between Christopher Hitchens and Steven Fry on one side and Archbishop John Onaiyekan and Ann Widdencombe on the other. With the topic "Is the Catholic church a force for good in the world".
