In Wow you can put them on the ignore list, If its goldspammers and the like. there are addons to auto ignore low level characters (It works most of the time).

The user CP contains an ignore list which you can add users to.
However you should consider trying to resolve your differences and if necessary appologise to the other person first even if you didnt start it, or explain your position to this person, ignoring someone just furthers the problem in my experience.
Because it is selfish and might leave you happy, but it could leave the other person even more aggravated than before.
If you can get over yourself* for a few moments im sure you can come to an agreement with the party involved allowing you to avoid using such a horrible feature especially on a community board where you should be albe to come to an amicable understanding.
*I say this because ignoring people should never be necessary, unless IMO they are just being abusive/ botting.

What Killer is trying to say is; put yourself in the other parties shoes, and try to look at the problem from their point of view, and then try and resolve the issue that way, as putting them on ignore straight away might serve to aggravate the problem.

How would you feel if you were the person in their situation and you just got blocked before you could reach and amical resolution?
You should consider that in ignoring them you are leaving the situation unresolved. And should you encounter this person again, you may feel that any past arguements between you are resolved, meanwhile they hate you.
Its clear that you are currently having a problem with someone, are they being abusive to you, if so you may not need to ignor them as you can just report them to an admin, but if they either have a point or are just trying to explain their position or just make you understand a mistake that either of you have made then ignoring them would be very selfish.

Also, if you can't seem to talk the issue out just by yourselves, asking for a man-in-the-middle sort of negotiator might be a good idea. I hear Zooggy is quite good at this kind of stuff - after all, he is (or was, I don't know how things changed) the Community officer of The Haven guild 
So, I'm confident he would happily assist you in non-WoW argument as well! Ignoring really is last resort kind of response.

Diablo 2 had an option to "stop this person seeing my messages", i honestly dont get why this wasn't globally adopted.
