tbh if you play and can't work out how it works play as the dwarves and they do a good amount of the work for you.

I just bought it for much cheapness! The league you guys set up last time sounded awesome, I'm gonna learn up on it so I can play in the next one.
Also, Tets, I'm sure a few of us can give you some practice games and stuff to warm you up. Be warned, the initial learning curve is steep, as is that when playing human opponents. Don't let it get you down, and you'll get to grips with it. It is a richly rewarding tactical game.
Anyone who is interested should sign up for the
blood bowl social group. There are a few threads over there which will help newbies, as well as some general stuff. It's a little idle at the moment, but we'll see it more active I suspect towards the start of the new league in november ish. I'll get down to writing one about caging and running the ball at some point. Maybe ghostwolf could write one on defensive tactics? He seems good at that...
