So it seems we've reached the first end. Has it really been 5 weeks? Where has the all the time (and dead bodies) gone? It feels like it just melted away into the ground.

So, Comrade Phil, I'm free all evenings this week except Monday and Thursday, choose a day and a time after, say, 8ish for our match? :)

I'm free most times in the evening, would prefer before 10.30pm, so tomorrow at 8ish could work fine, you should be able to find me on Steam :)

Not got the brain power for a full write up just now, but suffice to say:

Storm Heroes 3
Huung's Hippies 1

Nothing died!

Ronin had a nice 2-0 lead until the last quarter, and only a bit of fancy dice rolling allowed me to pull back a TD before Ronin scored a decisive victory in his 16th turn.

Level 5 catcher got MVP AGAIN, putting him at 62/76 SPP total :p

Great game, as always against Ronin. Looking forward to getting whomped on again next season!

I think the dark elves are particularly difficult to create an optimum starting roster for.

I would always be prone to starting without any runners or assassins, who (in my opinion) don't really add a lot to a starting team.

Ultimately, I think it comes down to personal preference how many blitzers vs witch elves vs rerolls you try to fit in to your team. Apothecary is also a big decision, due to the cost of your skill players.

Ultimately although 4 blitzers no WE seems very attractive, as block is at it's strongest early on in leagues, I'd probably lean towards 3 blitzers and one witch elf, as I rate frenzy very highly. Her dodge is also very strong (along with AG4) early on (as tackle is not common), and her high movement gives you another fast player. It's also not that fun to play 4 blitzers against bashing teams, where you just feel like you're getting a bum deal.

Conversely, as elves are so expensive, you likely won't have more than 2 rerolls, and that makes the witch elf a turnover machine (as ghostwolf will testify to), with S3, frenzy and no block, and the blitzers are far more reliable in getting the job done.

Assassins are only movement 6 which I feel is pretty poor considering their cost, and stab, while useful, does not give you any SPP when you injure someone, though would be nice against players like huung and trax' uber catchers. Shadowing is a really great skill, but with a MV of 6, isn't as great as it appears.

Well, victory to Team Fanservice 1-0. It got very close, I barely stopped his skinks scoring once, then, the dice gods decided it would be hilarious for a Saurus to pick up the ball in the last turn. . . too far away to do anything.

An amzing number of my poor ladies where knocked out and badly hurt, but they'll get better!

Good game phil. :)
