Well, it's been a quiet week on the board styles front... which I take to mean either that you've not been looking at them or you've not had any trouble. :)

In either case, I'm still pretty comfortable with the new 2-column styles and I plan to put them into a state of actual release and do all the stuff [thread=1113]previously discussed[/thread].

Any objections, speak now!

While I'm at it, though, I'm interested to know what styles you prefer from the ones we've got. Poll attached. Vote away.

Grudgingly, I've accepted Blue 2 (S) into my warm bosom.

Although, a week later I'm still looking for events and online members at the bottom of the page :p High visability maybe, but I think the quotation "you can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink" might apply in my case

I just had the greatest idea after reading that. Ronin could cook up some css hax to make those panels on the side flash onbeat with whatever's playing on THN Radio, rave style. It would make them harder to miss, and it would be bloody awesome. :D

Excellent work on the templates. I've been bouncing between them and they're all working like they should. :)

For some reason, when I've been using Blue2 (scaling) today I've been getting runtime errors in IE. Something about a missing bracket, however the lines are irrelevant since they change per page - on one it was 998, and another 1000-odd. I'll try and catch the actual message for you when I can.

On the main page in Blue2 scaling (although this problem also manifests itself inside the other version of Blue2):

A runtime error has occurred. Do you want to debug?
Line:988
Error: Expected ')'

Ronin, here's your problem:
Code:
else if (donationsCurrentValue < ((donationsMonthlyCost * 2) - (donationsMonthlyCost * 0.9))

:)

I'm still not happy with the lack of a post reply button. I would rather still have it and let people who use threaded fend for themselves.

Let me gauge the general use of different viewing methods as a response to that. Go [thread=1184]vote[/thread].

Well, that poll is now done. It says that just under two thirds of the community use a linear method, where one third use a threaded method of viewing the forums.

If we assume that there are a fair few who haven't actually responded to that poll, and that they are actually using the defaults, that's probably a 25:75 split, threaded:linear. They're useful figures because that probably means that, of our active community (in the last two weeks), roughly 16 people are using threaded views.

I think that's a significant membership count. We support games that have a membership of less than that.

Tells me we need to find a middle road somehow.

Still working on it.

I've switched the base board style over from Amber to Amber2.

I've not yet removed the option to use Blue, however. That's still pending a little more discussion on "Post Reply".
