New trailer out:

I've very conflicted by this as Matt Damon was just so good in the original trilogy. This looks very much a watchable action film but without the clinical brutality that Damon brought to the originals.

The program gets a heart ...

Still on my to-watch list though.

For me, it was all in the first one. The others I found difficult, both from a cinematographic point of view (severe shaky-cam fight scenes) and that the great secret was outed in the first.

That said, I have hopes for this one to tell a different story with some of the same pieces. I think they're trying to show some sharp violence in Kitsue but the implication seems to be that Bourne was high strung, not quite the intended product, where Kenneth may actually be everything they'd hoped for.

I hate it on the principal of the afformentioned cash cowness of it and also due to the fact it is essentially a fan fiction story made canon. I only got half way through the book and it just wasnt Bourne.

I found the first movie excellent and the others tying into a nicely wrapped triliogy with no need for addons. I guess the author thought so too...

Look at what they make you give.

On it's own merits, it looks promising. Can Renner carry a fillm like this as an action lead? I suspect he can.

Can he match up to the Damon role from the previous films, and transcend the fan-related baggage that comes with it? Probably not.

As I've never really been impressed with Matt Damon as a lead, I'm more inclined to see how this one pans out. It would probably be fine if it didn't have "Bourne" in the title.

Not disagreeing with you, but if a strikingly similar film didn't have it, we'd all be "doesn't this seem awfully like what would have happened after the 3rd Bourne film?".

Hey looks, it's hawkeye!

I'm prepared to give this one a shot and see if it can work as a film. I agree the book didn't but films and books are quite different
