BRD redux

Apologies to all concerned last night.

After a brief stint in strat undead (Grat to unbrator for getting another piece of his dungeon one gear), and a brief stint in Zul'Gurrub (Purely because forging alliances with the guild Loyality will increase the chances that haven members get to go on 20 man instanced raids). My effin comp had a coronary and proceeded to crash out. To that end, i propose that we get our first guild expedition into Blackrock Depths out of the way.

Who's with me...

Last nights run into BRD was bloody awsome if your names Nanork. The rest of us had to make do with the scraps from his table. LoL

Seriously now.. This place is brilliant for 50 to 59 level chars. It also has that variation that helps keep your interest in place, rather than 'oh no, another elite mob'. Yep the mobs were hard, and we suffered from not having a dedicated healer with us, but I kept wanting more and more. We never wiped from directly taking on a mob, in fact we never came close to wiping in this situation. But we did suffer from adds. Waaaaay to many adds. And that did wipe us all out on a couple of occasions.

The main reasons for 'Doing' BRD are the quests and the drops. The many quests you can complete have great rewards and XP, but the drops take this Instance onto a level you have never seen before in WoW. I counted no fewer than 11 Blue drops, and 6 Greens, and they were all top quality stuff. Nanork's ninja looting, was a joy to watch, and big congrats to him, on his lootage. Although, I do hope his new armour will stop him fainting everytime an elite stares at him, let alone runs in his direction.:)

I am up for doing this one over and over again.

Finally.. I cannot recommend this Instance unless your group averages 55 and over. You wouldnt stand a chance I am afraid. They jokingly say this is a level 48-55 Instance. Yeah right.

Yup, I got new fewer than 5 pieces of Blue, and I'm wearing 4 of them.

I wanted to fight but they just took too much mana :(

The time flew when we were in BRD, we started at around 22:30, and I still wanted more and more by 01:30! I coulda played all night, and I would have too if it wasn't for the server restart! :p

I'm up for doing this over, and over, and over again, and if the higher level instances are as good as this, I'll be there non-stop!

BRD isn't like other instances. It's not rinse then repeat. Each group of mobs is stationed in cool places, like mechanical gnomes around various engineering stuff, or dwarves all drinking in a pub. It's just genious for an instance. I used to level 50+ became a bit hard and boring so I quit my last character over it, but this has rekindleded my love of WoW!

Bring on 60!

Last night was fun, and I can only assure you that LBRS/UBRS/Scholo/Strat/ZG are IMHO the same. It also highlighted the capabilities of a group using teamspeak. Whilst we had three 60's in there, it is a tough enough instance and we were underpowered on the AOE and healing front. However we handled most of the bosses we came up against, and only wiped on trash mobs that aggro'd by accident.

In future... Shaman bring ankhs, melee and casters bring mana/health pots, hunters bring sufficient arrows (you know the drill) and we rinse the dungeon through to the Emperor. This will also take us one step closer to the level 60 instances above, and the dungeon one gear that many of you are putting together. It is important to note that 5 out of the 8 come from boss drops.

However I will make one point clear. At this stage in the game, playing your class is important. I had to ditch the hugely fun fury warrior build for a mixed protection/arms build. I'll not lie to you it is an entirely different way to play, but for me to get access to the content and gear that I want it's a must.

In the WOW wiki, there are many builds for the classes. Focusing on a mixed PVE/PVP build or pure PVE build will aid you no end in the higher instances. However within the guild there are several players of the same class, and distribution of the build types will help.

That is all...

The unfortunate reality with the Warriors is that if you are a warrior you are expected to be a tank and nothing else, which is frustrating for me as its not how i want to play...
