I've just signed up to it, and it seems okay. Not exactly thrilling when you first start, but hopefully things will pick up once you start waging war. Go here. If a couple of you are interested in it, I'm on Server 4 in the North-East.

I presume it's going to get better as I expand, because apparently it's the 'best browser game of 2006'.

THN used to have quite an active Browser Based community, playing games like MercenaryLords, Travian, O-game, Inselkampf among others... It's pretty much died out now though :/.

I used to play travian for a while but never really got into it that much. You could always ask Duren about it, he used to be quite good in it as far as I can remember :).
