I wanna get black ops 2 on amazon as its like 25 euro cheaper than steam, my question is, will it work with steam and will I need the disc at all times

I bought the disk version. Uses Steam, so once you've installed it you don't need the disk anymore.

really you don't even need the disk at all, just stick the key into steam
