Car vs Airplane engine

In Cryo Sleep
Mythbusters did something similar, but couldnt get the car to flip. Loosers. :D This vid is much nicer.

It happened for real in brazil where a road runs right at the end of a runway, a taxicab got blown over.

Not sure about that, but he does have exceedingly white teeth! :D

(that's an in-joke for those who watch Top Gear)

Ah top gear. By far the funniest show on UK TV. Did anyone see the Top Gear Winter Olympics episode?

MY opinion is that the Stig is Damon Hill. The stigg is a very tall and slender person, just like Damon. Also, he is one of only a few people out there that would be able to properly drive a Formula 1 car like they had on the show a few weeks back if i remember correctly

yep that was cool, i think the stig is well good, i wonder who he is

The Stig is different persons from show to show, I have reason to believe... (Stig is actually a nordic name... and quite an old-fashioned, "lame" one at that)

anyway, on the winter olympics show the Stig was Dan Lang(page in swedish but decipherable anyway, methinks), a Snowmobile-cross champion from Ã…re (one of Sweden's skiing cities).

And he's only been the Stig once. So there.

Hammond must have giganto balls to stand inside a turbine that's switched on :).

The engine wasn't turned on. No one would be that stupid. The engine is merely rotating due to the wind, as they work so well. It would be pointless having an engine that was had to rotate :)

The engine noise is from the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) which is itself a 5th slower engine on the 747. Its in the tail on the plane, and you can JUST see it on that video at time frame 2:48 (its a small black circle right on the end of the tail). The APU is used to give the plane power (Air-Con, lights, computer, etc.) when it is in hangars or not flying. This is because you dont want to power up an engine when doing some work on the plane, as its wasteful! And you can't turn on the engines in a hangar, as the exhaust will fill the room with not nice gases very quickly :(

Just thought I'd let you in on that one :)
