Right, so I got back in, grabbed a few nabs, and created The Haven. We're on beta now. 
Aanyway, a lot of people have been wandering about the perks / rep issues, I'm going to clear as much of that up as I can.
Firstly, guild experience is based on experience YOU earn as an individual, and is added up. For instance, I completed a quest (picture attached), in Mount Hyjal (a beautiful place tbh) rewarding 27k experience, the guild now has 27k experience towards it's next level.
The perks are automatic. Once I became guild master, I automatically had the ability 'Fast Track' - The first perk you can get, which gives an exp bonus. (This is taken into account for guild levelling)
Rep is NOT assigned by GM / Officers. I earned 2 rep for handing in that quest. I assume you get more for other things, like defeating raid bosses, PvPing etc. I was wearing the guild tabard at the time, and did not test without, but I'll get around to that.
Depositing in the guild bank etc did NOT give me any rep, and buying a bank tab provided neither rep nor exp. Which didn't really surprise me.
So that's about it really. Take a look at the attached pictures if you want. I took one of the rank system showing that there is no real change to the powers officers etc get.
