Soooo my computer is two and a half years old. This is a miracle for me. The beast has served its purpose and it's time to move on. Unfortunately I seem to have hit a brick wall with my motherboard and my I'm not getting great frame rates on BF3. SO HERE I AM!

I was looking around overlockers lovely selection of gaming bundles and was wondering if you guys could recommend me something?

Any good deals on GPUs would be sweet too as my 4870 is starting to kick it.

Cheers guys!

Socket 1155 - you want something z68 Gen 3 so it will accept the Ivy Bridge chips when they're released in 2013. Gives you some level of upgradablity

I think trying to get all this for Christmas is a bit of a far cry. Would it be possible to use a Q8400 on that mobo, re-use my current GPU and just buy a mobo and RAM?

No. It's socket 775?

Scan are selling bundles with mobo / ram / cpu / cooler every day in their Today Only.

Just leaving you with a GPU to acquire.

Nope, intel socket changes arent thats why I went AMD, but also why we suggested socket 1155 for ivy bridge. Make sure you get one with pcie3 compatability though.

Unfair comparison is unfair, the quadcore 940 AM2+ of the same era as 775 wont work in a AM3 or AM3+ motherboard, so neither company enjoys too much backwards compat.

No but quite a few AM3 chips will work in an AM2 / AM2+ mobo.
