Seeing as only a limited number of us have access to the CoD2 clan forum, I thought "Why not let everyone else know how we're getting on", so... Here's the end-game summary for you all to enjoy 
The match went ahead as planned, although 3v3 rather than the 5v5 we were hoping for. So, here's a little summary for those of us who didn't get to come, and for those of us who just want a memory of our first match.
Round 1, Carentan.
After a few minutes of rampant mayhem trying to get everyone organised, we started the bash for teams (BFT) to see who got to choose their start team, in the excitement and confusion, Gopha pulled the trigger on the enemy, sadly we forfeit the BFT. dB chose to start Allies, probably the easier team to play on the map, and we were with Axis defending. At the start we were getting our asses handed to us on a silver platter, but on the 3rd round, a sudden spark of adrenaline drove Gibsonfire to mutilate the enemy, after a few rounds of rustiness we got on our feet and managed to finish the round 7-3 to dB
Round 2, Carentan.
Now we'd gotten used to the feel of the game-play of dB, we gave it our all in an all out rush to try and eliminate them, however this failed, so we opted for a different strategy, to lay back and pick them off as they came along.
It was now that the raw recruit Gopha, started to show his true military skill, countless head-shots and bashes later, we managed to finish with a respectable 6-4 to us.
Round 1, Burgundy.
In the excitement from the previous round, we were a little too over confident in our playing, it's mainly because of this that we often got killed in the most astonishing of circumstances, for instance trying to shoot the enemy and ending up shooting your own team (Sorry Gopha!). In the end we did manage to finish somewhat disappointing 6-4 to dB.
Round 2, Burgundy.
Now, I've about exhausted my exaggerational skillz, so I'll just get to the point. We won this round by 6-4 to us, with alot of help from Gopha and his killing sprees.
Final score 21-19 to dB.

PS. If it's against some rule I haven't heard of to tell you all of our progress, I won't stand in your way if you decide to move/delete/rape/lock/vapourise this thread.
