Yes they are coming back launching a range of PC's!

Commodore Gaming

Story is on BBC news at the moment.

At the moment their website is counting down to about 12:30 today.

I would buy one if the spec was good.

Show off mine was a Amiga 600 :D
Took me ages to save up my pocket money for it too.

My 1200 had a daughterboard with a 68030 processor on it, and an extra 16MB of Fast RAM (in addition to the 2MB of Chip RAM) and also a 120MB Hard drive! Also had a real monitor for it too... didn't actually have the box to hook it up to a TV so couldnt use it on a TV even if I wanted to... :D

Yay Workbench 3.0!!!

Is that enough showing off?

I had an Atari (best version of Pacman ever, and Pole Position!) and I got a Spectrum in a jumble sale when I was young. My mum threw out the Atari because she has no concept of posterity, and the Spectrum ended up getting smashed for fun or something. NES and SNES were too good to even consider revisiting the ancient past anyway.

Commodore XX specs said:
Redefining the line between gaming and reality

CPU/ Literally at the core of the Commodore xx is an Intel Quad Core CPU. Carrying out several multimedia based tasks while taking headshots or issuing commands to your guild has never been this seamless and fast an experience, with Intel’s four headed monster sitting inside your machine.

Memory/ Corsair’s Dominator Series make sure your memory is seemingly infinite. This 2048 MByte matched pair of DDR2s is built using Corsair’s latest high performance heat sink with Dual-Path Heat Xchange technology.

Graphics/ NVIDIA’s GeForce® SLI setup inside the Commodore xx will ensure you don’t have to turn the graphics settings of your favourite games down. The world’s first DirectX® 10 GPUs deliver a graphical experience that takes you as far into your gaming reality as you dare to be taken.

Sound/ To make your sound go well with your graphics, the Commodore xx is outfitted with a sound card from Creative’s Sound Blaster® X-Fi series, the most powerful range of sound cards out there.

Cooling/ In order to actually maintain its cool with all the heavy machinery put to work 24/7, the Commodore xx CPU comes equipped with Arctic’s positively chilling Freezer 7 Pro cooler, an ICE Cube cooler on the power supply and a large 25mm fan on the inside of the left side panel.

Features
This is the starting point of what's inside the Commodore xx. Most parts are customizable.

Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad-Core processor QX6700: 2.66GHz 8M Cache
ASUS® P5N32-E nForce 680i SLI motherboard
2x 150GB 10000 RPM SATA Raid 0 and 1x 500GB 7200 RPM SATA Raid 1 hard drives
4GB Corsair® Dominator 2xTwin2x2048-8500C5D memory: 1066MHz
Philips® DVDRW optical drive
1000W ICE Cube power supply
Creative® SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
2x NVIDIA® 8800 GTX 768MB graphics cards

This is taken from the Commodore website, which is now displaying info about the systems they are gonna offer. That is the spec for the highest-end system they have, which is pretty much the best you can get at the moment... but there is no pricing information on these systems as yet, so it's looking to me like a clone of what the Alienware/Dell XPS systems are all about... but with an attempt to cash in on their glory days by branding these as Commodore PC's.

The nice touch though is that it will come pre-loaded with a C64 emulator and with approx. 50 old Commodore games :D - one for all you golden oldies out there!!!

Yeah, bloke. You get the feeling that some entrepreneuring individual has bought the brand name for tuppence and is now trying to flog his wares under the name in an attempt to gain some interest. I'd say it's a good idea, because if a Dell PC and Commodore PC had the same specs and the same price, I'd surely buy Commodore just for the sheer coolness of it :D

Guys, guys, guys! You're forgetting the amazign cool possiblities of the artwork that will adorn the case! They have plans (according to the beeb story) that customers could submit their own designs for their PCs! Bring on the Pimp my PC TV show!!!
