Their entire front page is devoted to ranting about how great they are ... didn't get beyond that.

Aww, what numpties.

Surely the answer to their perception of Wiki would be to be neutral?! Not bias in the opposite direction .

And commandments?! Come on!

"5. As much as is possible, American spelling of words must be used."

Stop bastardising the language! Color is such an ugly word :).

Oh, and lol!

"Note: You will only be blocked for violating command 5 if you repeatedly change words from American spelling to another spelling."

On Wikipedia, many of the dates are provided in the anti-Christian "C.E." instead of "A.D.", which Conservapedia uses.

Ok, that says it all..........

Oh and if you type in 'Islam' you get a whole load of information about how it is a 'pagan' religon:rolleyes:

Conservatism in America shares similarities with cults, they create a world of their own with their own reality fed by their own news sources and now their own encyclopedia. I'm not surprised.

Out of curiosity i registered on a forum with American conservatives last year, so i can know. :)

  1. Wikipedia often uses foreign spelling of words, even though most English-speaking users are American. Look up "Most Favored Nation" on Wikipedia and it automatically converts the spelling to the British spelling "Most Favoured Nation." Look up "Division of labor" on Wikipedia and it automatically converts to the British spelling "Division of labour," then insists on the British spelling for "specialization" also.[8] Enter "Hapsburg" (the European ruling family) and Wikipedia automatically changes the spelling to Habsburg, even though the American spelling has always been "Hapsburg". Within entries British spellings appear in the silliest of places, even when the topic is American. Conservapedia favors American spellings of words.

What a bunch of stupid twats... clearly they don't recognise where English comes from... England/ Britain??? (no, that would be almost logical!)

Seriously, John Cleese is right. The more people who allow the misspelling of words will only create more problems in the future.

*heads off to America to teach the nation how to spell correctly*

Wikipedia also uses the English spelling as other non-English language speakers are more likely to be able to read English instead of American (as they learn English as their second language). If they think "Labour" is the correct spelling of a word, when they see "Labor" they may think it is a completely different word, such as the difference between "Red" and "Read"...

Conservapedia seems to be very anti-Anyone-Who-Isn't-American...
