If you download the latest version the shrine is fixed!

Anything outside the intended area isn't my problem, fluorescent green shite included :D.

Oh, and anyone playing Ningxia Nightmare should throw a grenade into the field around the Crop flag point :)

Thanks to all the peeps that tried my map last night (Twisto, Vibroaxe, Nanor, Cook, Lynx 'n' Macca), and putting up with the tremendous ping my server dumped upon them!

If you could post up what you didn't like or (more importantly :)) what you did, I'll love you forever. I've several ideas for a new map and knowing what went right would be very helpful :D.

Your map was quite fun last night. Very well made. The only thing I thought that could be improved was the hight of the crop thingys :S. They were just too big and you couldn't see a thing. Maybe make them up to your shoulders so you can atleast see other peoples heads. Or maybe make them in Rows with gaps in the middle like the movies :).

Maybe some sort of crop circle would be novel too :). Overal a fun map :D.

Piaculars map is hilarious amounts of fun, especially the fact that you cant see your hand in front of your face in the corn fields, makes for some extremely tense gameplay. I love the birds flying out at random, tis very annoyign when you're tring to sneak up :D

Only bad point i can see is that its pretty easy to spawn camp the main bases once you have the corn field flag capped, there needs to be more cover between the bases and the shrine to stop it.

Ah, yes of course it's supposed to be green...

It reflects the biodiversity of nature, and not all maps have that :p.

The crops are meant to severely restrict vision, the map promotes a different style of game play, which from what I can gather is quite a fun one! Who wants to play the same old game when you can have a new slant on it ;).

The map even functions quite well with just 2 players, I had an excellent "tension filled" (Big T's words) match against Twisto which was genius :D.

MadGinga even managed to kill more than I killed him… and on my own map too :eek:.

Maybe that's a problem then? You have removed skill and replaced with randomness.

Personally I think you should decrease the density of the crops a little to make that viewing distance a little further. Not by much as the tension is greta but it would be nice to catch a few more glimpses of the enemy when you are in the crops. As it stands you have to be right next to each other.

That's the only thing I can find fault with.

Bambi, different styles!!! Use your ears to hear people rustling about, look for startled birds flying from the field! If they're capturing the flag you know they're nearby, utilise your brain! Which direction did they come from? Where would you have stopped?

Claymores are the way to go, especially in the cornfield, as you dont see them untill you're dead, well technically you dont see them once you're dead, cos they exploded, but hey you know what i mean.
Oh and if you've got claymores, you're a sniper, and they're rather hard to see against the crops :S

Okay, I'm going to make some changes to NN before I start on the my next map. I'll be making these changes tonight or tomorrow so any ideas would be appreciated :).

1. Crop density lowered from 2.5 -> 2.0 or 1.8.

2. Lowering the crop height a smidge from 2.0 -> 1.9 or 1.8. (Making Hummers in the field a little more useful).

3. Fixing a few floaty walls I found (hopefully only Nanor noticed them ;)).

4. Generating all lowdetail textures, meaning people should be able to play in Low graphical settings :).

5. Solving the invisible table issues, either by removing them completely or replacing with different statics.

6. Re-arranging the spawn points at the Roadblock so they are in the fields either side.

7. Slightly increasing capture times for both capable flags.

on the subject of "floating walls", did you notice the the end of the sandbag line with mounted machine gun at the roadblock point, nearest the american base is not touching the ground due to a ditch?

Currently it has the latest version of Ningxia Nightmare on it :rolleyes: .

I've finished NN, and won't be making any changes to it unless they are majorly requested :p. Unfortunatly in the time I had I couldn't figure out what was causing it to crash on low detail settings, so it'll have to be medium all the way! It's a small map so shouldn't cause any graphical strife :).

Anyhoo, anytime you load a Custom map for the first time ever there is a lot of caching etc, but after that ever load is smooth as silk!
