D&D is something that has always interested me, but I've never had the right group of friends to play it with.....

Feel your pain dude the only time me and Huung were able to try it was at a family get together as our uncle is really into it.

PS. Huung is the worst master of disguise ever.

Fixed that for you ;D

I had a warrior type person called Derp. I gave us away to a bunch of goblins as I failed at being sneaky and eloquent enough. Then a magician mind-controlled me and I killed the other 3 people I was playing with before jumping into a pit of spikes. Good times.

As someone who helps run a university gaming society this is of much interest to me. D&D is like marmite to my gamers - some love it, some hate it, and everyone has a most/least favourite edition.

Hey, :)

Never heard of Pathfinder before, I may go and find out more ...

Pathfinder is a third party remake of OGL rules (Open Gaming License, D&D 3.0 and 3.5). A lot of people like it better, a few people like it worse. Many (but not all) fans of Pathfinder didn't (don't?) see the need to switch over to 4.0.

In my (not so) humble opinion, Pathfinder was an attempt to make D&D do what it wasn't supposed to do, but that's a long (and hard and technical) discussion.

Me, I was well served by 3.5 and never got the urge to go look for something different, but I know a lot of people that swear by it, so YMMV...

Cheers,
J.

Ta Zooggy, I never got beyond 2nd edition forgotten realms so I'm a little behind the times (looks at the piles of boxes and boxes out in the shed :P)
