Dawn of War 2 wargear giveaway

Eurogamer are giving away 500 sets of wargear. Well, actually, 400 now as I hadn't spotted this when they started. As far as I can tell, they're giving 100 away each day, at 12:00 GMT, on February 23, 24, 25 and 26. That's Monday to Thursday next week in real money.

Apparently they were intending to do the rest of the sets this week but some issue at THQ's end is preventing that until Monday. Lucky us.

I expect a server resource bunfight over trying to get on in time but I plan to be there.

Honestly, I had no clue that there were different sets when I made my order, so I've got the Sternguard stuff. Not claimed my code, yet, though as I think I should have had two codes (as I ordered two copies of the game) but have only received one from Amazon...

Yeah I'd looked at this as I've got 2 of the sets, Xarlaxas has 3 of them. the others shall be helpful

Should have payed more attention to this, i just thought it was one collectors set, the wargear items i dont really care much about, they are damn handy about halfway through the campaign but after that they are often soon replaced. I was hope to get all the colours available and was suprised to see so few in the painter, and well this explains it.

im just mildly irritated that i have only got a select few of the metallic colours. i bought the game from 'Game' because i wanted a pysical copy of the game so i could marvel at it, and didnt get a choice of which pack to use [hence why i only thought there was one].

I do hope in the future they release all the metallic colours to everyone, because with the few i have the colour schemes are limited.

I got a set of wargear from play preorder
And a set off THQ for being one of 100,000 to register, got about 4 rows of metallics.

Thats, the Vanguard wargear set and Chapter Wargear set

Update, Monday 23rd February: It's with a profound sense of regret and wanting to punch somebody in the face that I have to let you know we're cancelling the Wargear giveaway that was set to run from today at midday.

This is due to an irresolvable legal issue involving one of the retailers offering pre-orders on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II. THQ has tried very hard to sort it out, but I'm told there's no way around it.

In order to try and make up for this to some extent, we will be giving away the remaining 400 Chapter Command Wargear key sets today at midday GMT, which we can do without incurring further wrath.

Hopefully we'll be able to make this up to you later in the year. On behalf of both THQ and myself, we're very sorry.

No idea what's actually going on there, really, but I think the sum result is that if you want a shot at some wargear then this lunchtime is the day to get it.

Looks like it's only the Chapter Command wargear being given away, which is the same as the one you can get by registering with THQ directly. Still might be worth it for some of you, but I've got this one already.

That said, I haven't seen the wargear show up in my SP game... do I need to start a new game to see it?

Yes. It does say that on the wargear codes
