Expansion number 2 is incoming, release date is set for September this year. New races, new campaign, and of course more fun.

Dark Crusade

Relic's intentions are nothing less than to produce "the greatest expansion pack ever made," according to one company rep.

This expansion will feature two new races, the Tau and the Necrons. In addition, Dark Crusade will feature all 7 races in an open ended, risk-style, conquer the planet campaign.

The new campaign sounds awesome and reminds me of the Conquer the World campaign from Rise of Nations. Maybe Relic will pull off the best expansion pack yet.

Dark Crusade will feature all 7 races in an open ended, risk-style, conquer the planet campaign.

I've been disappointed in many of these high-level Risk-style campaigns. Perhaps it's because I don't like Risk... still I'm quite prepared to be shown a wonderful variant by Dawn of War!

Fingers crossed, it'll be a good one. Either way, they'll be effectively giving the players a refined version of what the players themselves have been making...
