Working at the National Oceanography Centre you get 'exposed' to quite a lot of this kind of research.

I haven't heard of any human rape, but it is well documented that dolphins are vicious little fucks who rape each other in the blowhole as a form of social dominance, so theoretically, this isn't as far from the truth as it might seem. How they got their cute image is beyond scientific comprehension.

I think there's been plenty of scientific studies that have decried that as bullshit. I'll see if I can find any.
