[EVE] Dominion questions

I imagine these questions get bounced around all over the place, but I've seen different sources saying different things and ended up getting confused, so I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone can give a definite answer:

A lot of stuff was apparently dropped from the Dominion expansion that was going to go in (like the Mothership changes), and I was just wondering how much of what was meant to go in didn't? For example, are Assault Ships still getting the bonus to afterburner speed per racial frigate level? Are all of the changes to faction ships going through, and the addition of the new Tier 1 faction BSs?

I also can't seem to find a decent link to the patch notes (the EVE site hasn't been very nice to me these last couple of days...), anyone know a good source? And are they complete notes? (I'm used to World of Warcraft patch notes where I'm often just as interested in the undocumented changes as the listed ones, as they're often just as numerous and important).

I love the diversity of community that EVE is granted by all being in a single persistent realm, but the conflicting voices and seemingly lack of good, definitive sources of information (from what I've seen, at least) end up confusing me a fair bit :p

I wish my tag was EVE SiSi whore... All changes were documented with in the Test Server Feedback Forum. and under the In Testing Pages found within EVE Insider.

As to Dominion;

The Assault Frigate and Super Carrier changes/boosts are not being added to Dominion, the AF changes will come when they change rockets as this will add additional balance, as to the super carriers the challenge was far bigger than they had expected.

The Faction changes are going a'head and will be in Dominion along side new Tier 1 Faction Battleships, Caldari Navy Scorpion, Fleet Issue Typhoon, Federation Navy Dominix and Imperial Issue Armageddon. I believe I have the names and ship tier correct as I know for certain it is the Tier 1.

PATCH NOTES said:
We have added four new Navy battleships, based on Tier 1 battleship hulls and obtainable from Factional Warfare LP stores exclusively. They are the Navy Armageddon, Navy Scorpion, Navy Dominix and Fleet Typhoon.

As to the post above, no there is not any new Tech 2 battleships, only new additions are the 4 listed above.

[strike]also the new UI changes and Voice Fonts... Finally Rannis can sound like the lil girl he is.[/strike]

The memory consumption of the client was too high when started with audio disabled. This has now been fixed.

Future additions are more T3 with frigates, before then I'm expecting Planet Interaction around March 2010 - Incarna (WiS) around winter 2010 with the release of DUST 5-1-4.

If you need any more information nudge me in TS :D

The T3 frigs stuff I'd heard of and I'm looking fowards to that.

What's this about rocket changes, though? Some sort of plan to make them viable for more than shredding 'ceptors?

In the current TQ Rockets suck... they don't do the damage they should against frigates as rockets are primarily made to rape frigates and so on... but in a recent discussion in the test server, rockets were found to be causing little damage to ships going at certain speeds or the sig radius never matched up to what it should be doing.

So in which the rockets and AF will come in together with a patch/expansion soon™

Considering how much CCP went back on in this release, and it was very heavily tested content at that, i seriously doubt they'll ever do t3 frigates. Expect to see more subsystems for the existing t3 cruisers first.

At the moment we won't know until we see the "In Testing" pages change around the end of this month to next month.

Already patches are being put together for areas that weren't fully tested, like the jukebox... no one knew about it.

The frigate changes will wait until they get rockets fixed as they are SCREWED completely, they have mentioned this. As for T3 frigates, its on the drawing board. Subsystems for the T3 cruisers may come in with the same patch, who knows.

The super carriers, they need more testing... They still didn't perform the role wanted during testing, also tons of flame came a head for changing them any way. Read the forums, look at the petitions.

As for now we can only speculate (huge word for me) where things could go but what we do know is Planetary Interaction is coming next year, followed by Incarna™.

Are rockets screwed across the board? When I used to do L3 missions in my Jag, I had a T2 rocket launcher firing the EM-damage Rage rockets and was hitting for around 50-120 per rocket (the damage range was obviously 'cause of resists, and I was too lazy to look up damage types for missions and adjust my rockets accordingly at the time); is that what's expected, or are they meant to be doing a bit more than that?

Also, reckon stuff like the AS speed boost and rocket changes will have to wait for a full expansion (isn't the next one early summer next year with Ambulation and stuff?), or reckon it might make it into a patch like some of the later Apocrypha changes did?

You've perked my interest somewhat, since I like making use of rockets on Frig-sized vessels and have a fair few skills in them (and I'm looking at getting the Khanid AS, which has rocket bonuses)

...wow. I had no idea they were so broken, I just assumed that their damage was supposed to be supremely mediocre except against, say, drones and interceptors (where I've found them more viable than my autos).

If that's the case, I'd love to see what they'll be like when they fix them...

Its funny because lolkets are so terrible in pvp it makes baby jesus cry. They can't even hit interceptors in pvp and on the offchance they do, they do no damage.

The experience in pve vs pvp is a skewed horrible difference, for example in pve Cruise missiles are good - in pvp they aren't.

Very true, its also why i say to people to NEVER Test ships within PvE and always go onto a PvP field either incorp or SiSi which isn't 100% the best place as it is a test server.

By the way Pixel... Saw your name on OMGRawr... :D

It's all a fabrication, I'm elite pvp. Though on topic, rockets have never really been good in PVE or PVP. In PVE long range missiles are the way to go to minimise paying attention, and in PVP HMLs arent all that bad as they can hit the class below where as HAMs are all about laying the hurt on Battleships. All in all, rockets are the single worst weaponsystem in EVE and CCP should refund people who have trained it with SP and a Tshirt saying "I trained rockets in EVE".

Oh yeah, and Rockets on a Jaguar is criminal.
