The Games Announcements forum has had 31 threads and 390 posts in nine months. That's really small beans when compared with the rest of the forum. This makes me believe that it is no longer needed and may even have been misguided in the first place.
Its original purpose was to provide a place for people involved in the various games forums (that are hidden unless you're in that group) to make announcements about major things happening in that bit of the community, or advertise more widely for people to get involved in specific sorts of events.
However, I suspect that people are signed into the bits they care about and if they don't care they aren't in that group. Sure, there are going to be occasions when we want to shout "hey, we're starting this new thing, come get involved" but that's only occasionally and doesn't need its own forum.
So, my proposition:
Sound good?

So, my proposition:
- All posts from Games Announcements are moved into ...Other Games.
- Games Announcements forum is closed/removed.
- ...Other Games becomes renamed to just "Games" and its description updated to include a link to the Group Memberships bit of your User CP and a note and a sticky post to point people at usergroups to find specific games.
- The retasked Games forum stays in its current position in the hierarchy of forums.
Sound good?
