[DS] Animal Crossing

Afternoon,

Random I know but I have just discovered the wonder and delight of growing apple trees, fishing and populating my museum with fossils I've dug up in my own back yard. Yup - I have the Animal Crossing bug!

It's like a little self contained online game but on your Nintendo DS! Growing your house, furnishing it and setting the latest fashion trends! Then you get to go to someone elses town via wifi and see what they got (and maybe steal it :D )

If anyone fancies coming to Snodland my friends code is:
4167 0503 0064
Town:
Snodland
Inhabitant:
Bazza

And if you haven't got Animal Crossing yet... you may be surprised how addictive it is! See you there!

Re: Animal Crossing

You've not got a link for that, by chance? :) (Yes, I could Google, 'tis true... still, want to make sure I end up with the right one, etc, etc).

Re: Animal Crossing

I have a DS lite and I'd like to try it. DS games are very dear though, and they really aren't worth it compared to PC games. I still by them though.. :)

So Mertyl, do you have Advance Wars: Dual Strike? That's a good game. :)

Re: Animal Crossing

Now, if I'd actually identified that it was for the DS I might have realised there was no link... ;)

[mod]Altered subject of thread to indicate platform. Might add a vB mod to help people out with this.[/mod]

Re: Animal Crossing

No not played Advanced Wars... lots of people say it is good though - want to get Yopshi's Island too. Animal crossings thouh is fab for WoW when waiting for battle grounds or any breaks in the game coz you can catch a few bugs or plant a few trees and leave it there...

A real pick up and play. Also got the New Mario and Mario 64 games.

I like my DS <3

Picked this up today. :)
I'll post my details later on when I've had a chance to give it a try.

In Cryo Sleep
One of my buddies had Animal Crossing for the GameCube (had to chip the thing and buy it on import because it wasn't available here) and I had a little go on it. It was pretty neat as a gimmicky game, but I got bored after about fifteen minutes; my mate liked it a helluva lot, but he found it a bit too short to be worth it. I'm not really into these sandbox-type repetitive games, so my viewpoint doesn't count for all that much I guess.

I'm waiting to see what BiG_D has to say before I get it.

BiG_D's word is the only word!

ok then... Well I like it. But don't expect something you'll play for hour upon hour. It's the kind of thing you play for 15 minutes at a time. But every day!

I play it on the train to and from work so it's an ideal non-level based game which is probably why I like it so much. And it's cute! :p

Cool! I think you will enjoy it.

It is randomly adictive :) This week my shop has been upgraded and has a hairdressers which means I now have blue hair - after going through white and green and ginger I am happy with my new look :)

Now - where are those fossils lurking... ....

Righty, it arrived. It's pretty good, but nothing amazing as of yet. So far all I've done is catch fish, bugs and cherries and sold them in the shop to pay of my mortgage. I've paid off my mortgage and now.. well.. there isn't much to do except get my house extended and pay off another mortgage. That said, the dialogue is brilliant! So far, in about 2 hours play I've gave made a new word to replace 'hip' (roxxor) and I've been nicknamed dumbell. It's enjoyable and I know I'll play this for about 15 mins a day!

Isn't there a way to terraform the land? I know you can chop down trees, but can you make stuff from the wood? What else can I do? :p

My Wifi isn't working though.. :(

You'll get a new person everyday until there are 9 (or 10 i can't remember) in your village.

Latest nicknames I've used are 'Bumtag' and 'Gimpazoid' with the greetings following the lines of 'Oi Biatch' and 'Oi Oi Saveloy'. Indeed very childish but keeps me hugely amused!

When you visit other towns you'll get different fruits, each town is randomly generated, and those fruits are worth more in your shop for selling (as they're not native to you shores) so WiFi is always good but only works with people you have friends codes with.

Hope it build for your - amazing time waster for me! :)

Ahh, I have cherries! I'll try and configure my modem so I can play with you all! But can I change the land at all apart from cutting down trees and planting flowers, can I build anything with the trees I chop down?

I got WiFi working! :D
