DVD Stills?

Heya,

A mate of mine's just asked if I knew how to take stills from a DVD movie.

It seems you can't just take a screenshot.

So if anyone knows how to take a good quality still from a DVD movie, played on a PC. I'll send you some Rep.

Here's a guide. Basically it says "get fraps". I use Snagit. Also there are some DVD player progs that have a capture feature. Hope that sorts it.

edit: Apparently VideoReDo will do the trick, too.

PowerDVD supports this feature.

Yeah, I use PowerDVD to capture stills from DVDs and Fraps to grab them from AVI files played through zPlayer (though I imagine any player would do you).

You could also use Windows Movie Maker. You must save the DVD to your hard drive using something akin to DVD Decrypter then open it in movie maker. You can take screens that way.
