[Tech] Earphones

So I'm lying in bed about to relax to some Pete Tong live in Ibiza followed by some Simon unt Garfunkel when I find one of the ears has gone mute. Balls! So it's time for a new set and I'm wondering if you lot can help me. Here's what I need:

  • Good quality sound. Nothing amazing but still good.
  • Comfortable to sleep in. I should be able to lie with my ear to the pillow whilst wearing them.
  • Must be quite robust and long lasting as I quite often go to sleep while wearing them and wake up wrapped in them.
  • Cheap as possible. I'd like to stay ideally around the 20 quid mark but I'd be willing to go a bit further if there was something particularly amazing.

Just so I get to be the first one...

You shouldn't be wearing earphones whilst sleeping, it can cause deafness, and with quite bad odds.

For in ear jobbies any senns or if you can find them cheapish shure headphones are awesome.

As Huung said going to sleep with earphones in is generally a very bad idea.

Earphones: (in-ear. Feel free to poke me for headphone brands/models)
Skullcandy ink'd can be found for cheap in some places (They are pretty good)[Can be found in several colours]
Creative EP-630 can also be found for cheaps in some places (Also good ones)[Found two colours: Black, white]
(Have both earphones and can vouche for them)

However. I will agree that sleeping with earphones is not a good idea in the long run.
  • Can break them(Pulling the cable in your sleep can rip it out from the earphones themselves after a while).
  • Causes irritation to the ear(s).
  • Can in some cases cause deaffness. (Especially if listening to something with a lot of bass or a lot of trebble/volume settings aren't at lowest possible :p )
Anyhow. I hope this helps in terms of maker(s)/model(s), Nannums.
Happy Hunting :)
