Easier to give rep..

I've noticed that there's a distinct lack in rep giving.. This could be perhaps that it's a crappy idea I've submitted, but people generally say "Good idea, Nanor" but no rep points.

I thought maybe this was because people couldn't be arsed having to switch windows to give rep. While clicking the Search button I noticed that it would open a drop down window. Would it be possible to do that for giving rep, and once you submitted it keep you at the same window?

I think this would encourage people to give others more well deserved reputation.

Thoughts?

Once you've given Rep I believe it brings you back to where you were before... that not so?

What you suggest is possible. I'll not get a chance to look at it immediately but I'll put it into the "for consideration" pile.

I wouldn't spend much time working on that, I believe it's a confirmed feature in the next version of vBulletin

Welcome to the tricky world of recieving rep points Nanor.

Rep is a beautiful thing but people only seem to give it if something has been done out of the norm.

Eg/ I would organise a series of matches for BF2 and recieve no rep for any of them. Twisto might organise a game and recieve rep as he has not done so before. Now that Twisto organises plenty of games the rep he has historically recieved for organising will have stopped as people expect him to organise matches.

I've learnt not to expect rep for anything that I contribute to on these forums, but always take the approach that if I recieve rep then it's a pleasant surprise and a job well done.

Maybe you should try doing something that you might not do normally and this might bring about some positive reputation?

Uh I didn't mean that you should ACTUALLY give Piacular a rep hit. Nanor you hold a lot of Rep power you shouldn't use it so flagrantly.

I'd suggest getting that hit revoked Piacular.
