[Music] Electro

So I know a few of you around here like electro music. BiG D posted a nice tune to the shoutbox there a week ago, Tets and I played that delightful trance game at i37 and Ronin played me a few tunes while we were driving around during i37 so I know you're out there. :)

I'm expanding my music collection and I was wondering if any of you could help me by posting little gems you find around the internet. I'll start.

Mark Knight & D.Ramirez vs. Underworld - Downpipe (Club Mix)
Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner - Animal Rights

Tetsuo_Shima

In Cryo Sleep
Man With No Name - Reincarnation (Tripster Remix) One of my favourite trance tunes of all time, mindblowing build up

Friends, Lovers and Family - Highly Strung

Human Blue - Atom Love the soft trippiness of this one

Criss Source - Sunrise much more traditional trance sound

Tech trance might be the sound for you. I don't like it because it's a bit too soulless and formulative, but if you like [strike]deadshit[/strike] deadmau5 then you'll probably enjoy it because of the harsh electro samples:

Mark Sherry & James Allan vs. William Daniel - Future Primitive

Neelix - Chainsaw

I just download mixes off of forums and keep an eye on the tracklists for songs I like; I wish I could keep closer to the beating heart of the scene, but it's too expensive and there are mountains of pre-fabricated shite you have to wade through to get to the good stuff these days.

Oh yeah, and here's one I put in the shoutbox the other day that D liked:

Quivver - Surin

I tend to buy my Trance and other electronica from Track It Down, who have been pretty reliable for getting recent releases; used to go to AudioJelly but stopped when I had trouble with them not having licenses to distribute tracks to Europe/UK.

As for tracks themselves, I've been listening to a variety of the following recently:

That's all Trance/House and largely sans vocals. Here's a bit of remixing of other non-Trance vocal tracks into a Trance stylee:

Both of those discovered on Trance Around the World; I love Above and Beyond, and now dating back to 2008/2009.

Also, while we're on the subject of Quivver, my favourite from him:

  • Quivver - Ghosts - from Dirty Nails & Vapour Trails, downtempo and kinda mysterious
