Empires 1.06

With the following opening phrase I await the pricking of ears:

What do you get when you cross FireArms with Natural Selection and then give it the Source engine? That’s right, you get Empires 1.06 Beta.

Is the reviewer a heretic deserving only the loving aministration of a hot poker from NS lovers the land over ... or is he onto something ?

The current version is actually 1.07
It's pretty fun, and I've been enjoying playing it. Perhaps if we can get enough people interested we could have an event...

I'll take a look. Been playing a bit of CS Source recently as some light entertainment (it scares me that I've not played for 6 months and still make top half of the score board no matter how badly I play). S'only reason I'm even signed into the CS Source group!

Well, I've been and grabbed this. Note that they're now at version 1.071. Unfortunately, all four European servers appear to be empty so no play for me.

Also, I found the motion quite jerky, almost as if I was warping a bit, but the latency was really very low (especially as I was the only person on). Does anyone else find this?

The few times I've tried driving anything in Empires it was very jerky. I can ride in them just fine however. The melee animation is also very odd. Like it only goes through part of the animation then stops. I think I've seen people on the European servers during evening and late night GMT.
