It does seem a lot like EVE except... easier.

EVE - Complexity + Quake is most definitely Freelancer.

JumpGate Evolution is a stick and throttle game, AFAIK.

EVE is more of an Elite-derived RTS.

They don't really compare except in genre.

JumpGate was HOTAS but the physics was non-Newtonian so no Starfury or Viper for you. They had a slip/strafe mode but it's just not the same.

I believe JumpGate Evolution is taking the original and making it, well, MMO.

Looks like it's more of a fps version of EVE, which is a welcome alternative.

No chance of me signing up for beta, I'll wait till it's close to perfect.

Codemasters are coming to i36, and we'll be allowed to get hands-on with Jumpgate Evolution.

So I'll no doubt have some words to say about it when I get my grubby little mitts on it
