Before I was so active in THN, I worked with a group of really good guys on a huge role-play oriented site for Star Wars Galaxies. SWG was, for me, a huge let down but the group sort of hung together around a site called Vagabond's Rest.
Turns out, they've recently gone into EVE too. They've got some older players and a bunch of fresh recruits.
I've said hi and offered to meet up, do some missions or something with them sometime.
They're centred in the US so the time difference may be a bit of a pain and, on average, they're substantially older than the THN crew (they probably average late 20s / early 30s IRL, over THN's late teens / early 20s). They're good people and I'd vouch for them.
Worth keeping an eye out for them; their Corp is Titan Enterprises, I believe.
