What: PVP practice for Corp members only

Where: TBC in private channels, probably high-sec

When: 18:30 EVT / 19:30 UK muster, 19:00 EVT / 20:00 UK start on Friday 4th July

Rules:

We'll focus on Tech 1 Frigates for this one so please have two to three Frigates available and fitted with whatever weaponry you see fit. The Corp can help with Merlins and Kestrels for this exercise, maximum of 2 per person, returnable at the end of the exercise.

Do not bring anything you can't afford to lose. If you can, get a jump clone so you're at minimum of risk. At the very least, ensure your clone is up to date and your ship is insured.

Absolutely no pod kills.

If our fighting draws fire from anything serious outside of our exercise, we immediately end the exercise and withdraw to safety and/or switch to killing the aggressor.

Overall exercise direction will reside with me.

Please turn up for 19:30 so we can get everyone to where they need to be and have that 30 minutes to figure ourselves out. If you can't attend 'til later or are likely to have an interruption please advise before hand so we can balance the teams around that.

Scenario:

We'll split into two fleets. We'll have TS open with all of us on but we'll use the in-game VOIP to get used to working with that, thinking forward to Faction War inter-Corp cooperation.

It'll be Fleet A versus Fleet B. Single system engagement. Tactics to be decided on the day. Each fleet will have a fleet commander who calls the play. If more than two people (one for each fleet) want to fleet command then we'll rotate commanders around.

As Frigates are cheap, we'll fight to destruction. Winner at the end of the exercise is the one who has most kills.

Please note: EVT is EVE Time, UK is current UK time (GMT+1 / BST).

Also, may I ask what settings you chose for the event? The time is once again showing as an hour off to me: the forums tell me that the event starts at 15:30, but since I'm so smart and handsome I've determined that it in fact starts at 14:30! It would be convenient if I wouldn't have to do math next time, though :p

On my screen it says:

Fri 4 Jul 2008 19:30 to 23:00
*The times shown may change, depending on DST settings

Is it the DST stuff that's arsing this up?

I'm assuming it is. It might be best to next time choose the actual time and keep the DST thinger unchecked? The options themselves are quite confusing, I'll try some things out.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for this. It was good fun and I think we all learned some useful things from this, including some better defined rules for the next one.

Yeah was quite good fun, even though Trax appeared in his godlike ship. Cheeky monkey.

Worked quite nicely and although it'll be much harder with more people, watching Trax being unable to fire due to the ridiculous amount of jamming Ronin was throwing at him was amazing to watch.
